4ohms or 2ohms?

Planet Audio tt2250 or whatever it is will provide A LOT of power at .5ohms and will be good for a DD even at that ohmage. May go out after 6-8months of abuse @ .5ohms though.

 
Be sure to try both the lower and higher impedance. We've had multiple instances of more SQ *and* output at higher impedances. Blame that on general amp efficiency and dampening factor, I guess.
If you got more output at the higher impedance, that's strictly due to the amplifier design (and an unusual one at that). Impedance is a measure of resistance, and basic electrical laws dictate less resistance = more current. There's no way he should get more output at 8ohms than 2ohms, unless the amp is simply not stable that low and cuts out or something.

P=IV

V=IR

P=power measured in watts

I=Current measured in amperes

R=resistance measured in ohms

V=voltage measured in volts

If V is constant and R drops, then I increases to compensate for the difference, leading to more power produced.
