4g or 1/0g

0 guage can handle 250 amperes easy in a vehicle's car length (even 300). As long as the OP isn't planning on being in competitions or continuously playing at max volume off the batteries, 1 0g is more than enough for 3000 watts.

You can always check yourself with a DMM after installing 1 run. Crank the volume to max with everything connected and check your voltage under your hood and in your trunk. If it's nearly the same you don't need a second run. If you have .5 or more voltage drop then consider a second run.

i have 1/0 for 1k
Same here, probably more like 800rms, but bigger wire gives you room to upgrade in the future, also better to be safe than sorry. Keep in mind too, the longer the cable is the more resistance, so you'll need even a bigger gauge. But you should be fine with 1/0.
