You are tuned too high for your Accord. IIRC, those cars resonate in the 40s or 50s therefore you are doubling up on your higher bass notes while your subs have a snowball's chance in hell of reaching the lower notes due to the enclosure's uber high tuning frequency.

Why the idiot slot ported when he went outside of your request is beyond me. If he was going to do something that dumb, he should have aeroported the enclosure. It would have been much easier to swap an aeroport or two than it is going to be for him to build you a new enclosure!

Sadly, with all the money you spent on enclosures, you probably could have purchased a nice circular saw and plunge based router to build your own enclosures from this point forward.

Hey wats up Matt. Im not liking the box man. Be honest, do you think its worth $200, cuz i sure as hell don't bro. Im sorry but the carpeting job is crap. Theres none on the bottom, and everywhere u can get a box, all 4 sides are carpeted. I know you did it all in one day but you told me you could. So why did it fail. I wanted 32hz but when I waited all day and came out there you told me it was at 42hz. I can't use that for daily driving.

just tell him the carpeting job wasnt carefully done and you tuned it 10****ing hz more than what you told him to tune it, he can decide the tuning for his own god **** box. you paid for a professional box and gave specifics and you didnt get either, whats the question

he told me my SEs arent going to hit much lower. I told him how the lows werent comin out of the 42hz box. That cant' be true..

Update: He says 32hz will work with same size box but port will be on side..

Im thinking port and sub forward facing trunk will be loudest.

your port will have to be smaller if you want to keep the same size box and tune to 32hz.

you probably got more flex with the new box because it was in the trunk, and the one pioneer built for you was in the back seat.

i measured the box just now.it is 29" Length, 22" Width, 16" Height

that box fits perfect in my car... has some room so the port doesnt choke. basically i need a box that size tuned to 32hz with 4 cubic feet.

pioneer's box was in the backseat because it wouldnt fit in the trunk.

Go tell the ***** you want your box the way you agreed on having it built, not some secondhand carpeted bullshit. However, as far as no carpet being on the bottom, ive done that before. he told me i could bring in Pioneer's box and he'd duplicate the port for me in a new box.

there should be a pretty big difference in how low they hit tuned to 32 compared to 42

Personally, I'd get a design from here. Then take that to him and make him re-build it. It sounds like he's a rookie. If he doesn't think a sub will play lower with a 12hz drop in tune he's sadly mistaken, no matter what sub it is.

If you list your max dimensions then I'm sure someone will get you a design that is exactly what you want.

I'd also probably take some 3M super 77 with me and tell him to use that to carpet the box. I'm not sure what he uses but you shouldn't be able to take the carpet off of another box and it be re-usable.

my friends 94 accord box is that but the specs are like 33 wide by 14.25 tall by 24 deep....
