40Hz or 31Hz?

The specs on the sub i have is 2.25 cu ft tuned to 40 hz... should i do those exact specs or do you think 2.5 cu ft tuned to 31 Hz would be better?

Why would you not listen to the recommended enclosure by the manufacturer

DD recommends the 40hz tuning cause most people that buy DD only want to get loud.

Because they don't know what type of sound I'm looking for. I would never blindly follow manufacturer's recommended enclosures. The only time I have agreed with them was with my IDQ. I built an enclosure to suit my needs and it just so happen to fall in the recommended category.

Its a Rockford Fosgate T1 Power Series. Right now its in a 3.5 cu ft box tuned to 32 Hz.
