Sorry about another "Which" sub thread, but I have no idea where to start. I was in an accident and they totaled my beloved Rodeo. So I purchased a 02 Mountaineer with the third row seat. There is not much room behind the third row seat and taking it out is not an option. I need the room for the three kids that I sometimes have with me. Just to save space I am going to run the Kicker 5 channel amp. The sub channel pushes out around 400 and sum watts at 2 ohm. it diffently needs to be ported. Thanks for the help.

10w7

i had a 10w7 in a box 12"h x 16"d x 20" long(ported), run by a 500w amp. It was actually very loud and hit hard.....it didnt mind being underpowered at all.

If you seal it, the 400 or so watts you will be feeding it should work well for ya, and take up less room, but the ported box I had for it took up little space.

no one believed i had only 1 sub in there, let alone a 10" sub!!

all are good recommendations (except the 10w7). i will throw another one out there.

ascendent audio assasin.

also, you could try out a 8" sub.

digital designs 8 or a sound splinter rli-8.

both get plenty loud on 400 watts in small enclosure

TC-1000 or db-500
I belive that the db-500 is a single 4 ohm and the tc-1000 is a dual 4 ohm. I need it to be a final load of 2 ohm to maximize my amp. I do have a Cadence zx8000 that is 500watts at 4 ohm, but I don't want to use to amps. I want to use the 5 channel so that it will be less space and easier to remove in a hurry.

As for the ascendent audio assasin. I would have to wait for the new ones to come out. I don't think that they are selling any of the old ones still.

12w3v3 - about 1.2 - 1.5 cubes

12 FI SSD - about 1.0 - 1.3 cubes

both in sealed boxes

i know the ssd is rated at 800rms but ive checked their forum and alot of people ran theirs at around 400-600rms and they said it hit hard as well

I am not sure yet. I still have to measure. The truck is a 02 Mercury Mountineer. It has the third row seat in it. First guess is somewhere around 1.5 - 2.5 if I'm lucky. I plan on using a kicker 5 channel amp to save space, but I could use a sub amp and mids/highs amp if I need more power. The kicker five channel is rated at 85 x 4 and 420 x 1 @ 2ohms. I need to find a sub that fits the bill at 2ohm. Or maybe a pair that takes limited space and a final load of 2ohms.

how much is limited space?
