400-500 for a sub

i currently got my two 12" L7s, i got offered 400 dollars for them both so they are gone as of thursday, i want something new, as loud if not louder, something that doesnt take up as much space as the L7s did(5.3 cube box), something that can handle the 1500watts my tantrums gonna throw at it, good sound quality, im aware of the XXX and brahma im just looking for the other options out there too.

my other idea is a shit load of 8s, but i wanna see what i can get with 1 sub.

magnums?

i was looking into buying a brahma, but am now considering a mag. ive heard good reviews, but have never heard one first hand.

maybe an mtx 9500 if your only looking for spl, i hear their sq blows.

dont think they are making magnums again yet and i dont wanna wait i want to order this sub thursday after i get the $... and i want a SQ.

1 sub for 400$ that is good sq and gets as loud as 2 L7's will be tough to find... You could maybe do a pair of Tempests or even LI's. I dont know if you want to go with teh dual sub setup but 2 L7's SPL will be tough to match with only 1 sub.

well i owned a magnum and brahma, and powered each with the same amp, but i think the edge goes to the brahma, but my brahma is a 15 wheras the mag was a 12. it seems to have higher spl and sq is even.

what about those new audioque hd's I think they are... 300oz mag etc. Get a single 12/15" one of those?

2 SX's should be around 450 right? I mean it would be a dual setup and Im pretty sure they would match the L7s.

oh oh, there is a magnum for sale on the forums around page 8... lol... i was talking to the forum about it... 300 shipped firm brand new, if you are considering that subwoofer. i dont know much about them, or if they can handle "1500" watts.
