4 troops abducted, killed in Iraq attack

BAGHDAD, Iraq - In perhaps the boldest and most sophisticated attack in four years of warfare, gunmen speaking English, wearing U.S. military uniforms and carrying American weapons abducted four U.S. soldiers last week at the provincial headquarters in the Shiite holy city of Karbala and then shot them to death.
The U.S. military confirmed a report earlier Friday by The Associated Press that three of the soldiers were dead and one was mortally wounded with a gunshot to the head when they were found in a neighboring province, about 25 miles from the compound where they were captured. A fifth soldier was killed in the initial attack on the compound.

The new account contradicted a U.S. military statement on Jan. 20, the day of the raid on an Iraqi governor's office, that five soldiers were killed "repelling" the attack.

I can not stress enough the importance of the US military of getting out of there. We are fighting a losing battle and for what? Sadly things are going to get worse and worse. I am sooo glad I got out! Mad props to all the soldiers over there as I know what they are going through.

Still, to occupy a mid-east country like Iraq for over 3 yerars and loose just over 3k troops? Thats unheard of, considering they were estimating loses of up to 10,000 during the first couple weeks just taking Bagdad. Compared to Vietnam, where we lost 55k+ troops, in addition to 500k+ native miltary, and considering the amount of troops we have over there currently, I think we are doin just fine. It's the US public opinion that is putting us in danger of losing. Noone has the stomach anymore for loses.

u guys are really funny................so killing terrorist is bad? to try to prevent another attack, it looks like u guys live in the middle of nowhere but i live just outside of SF and oakland(i go there almost every week) and it would kinda **** if i showed up one day and the golden gate bridge had been bombed i personally wouldn't like that...........the only good things the terrorists could do is bomb berkley(i hate hippi's)
