4 spoke vs. 12 spoke baskets... purely cosmetic?

the overall height of the basket. for example the 4 spoke 10" baskets I have are 4" tall and the 12 spokes are 5" tall allowing for more clearance.

which one's are stronger? id think the 12s becuase more spokes, but the 4s look pretty sturdy as well.

Oh dang... the basket i'm thinking about getting is a 6 spoke... is that 4 or 5 inches? in 15" for an RE MT... if that makes a difference

4 is stronger iirc

I don't recall the FEA...but I think the 12 spoke is stronger. But they do come in all different types of metals. From a build standpoint, the 12 spoke is a lot easier to build. The terminals of the 4 spoke always takes a little longer to work with. As mentioned the clearance is much better with the 12 spoke.

I've only broken them via shipping problems. I believe Greg at RE/US Amps told me that the 12 spoke was stronger.
