4 re 8's or 2 10" 187's?

i have 5 re 8's in a ported box in my truckthe ports fire toward the ceiling..3 of them just inches from my ears(5 total since each is sealed in its own ported chamber

my ears hurt after about 2 mins of play on the right song and my mirrors become rather hilarious..,cant use them...

i think my box could be better, i want more punchy bass with less ear pain(i would like to keep most of my hearing)...it might have something to do with the ports very close to my ears....

my thinking for buying them was that i can put more watts to more subs with the least amount of room(std truck) as compared to 10's or bigger. Could it be better, Yes, but for what i had to work with(very small mounting depth and space) and what i payed it came out pretty good since it sounds awsome on stuff other then rap.

but i can be heard a block away...my cousin heard me before he seen me hahahahah

hey ifly, i would like pics of how u did that. that is also the reason if was thinking of using 8's. I have very little airspace and not much in the way of mounting depth. How big was each individual box? thanks

Not necessarily true. You have to incorporate XMax and some other stuff i probably dont know about.

my box has 5 chambers with like .625 for each sub ported to 32 hz total its like 3.5 cubes hehehe

im going to build a different box in the near future with 8 of these little bit@@@es sealed, i want more thump with less db's if that makes any sence? ...i still value my hearing...sorta
