That sub looks so good in my garage as eye candy, i stopped rushing to get to use it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. If you've used this sub, i'd LOVE some input.. I know of one person (Lord Baccus) on SSA who has experience with this, and i'd like to get more input because i believe his was used mainly for db drag but i don't remember.. I want music, i'll be going for bassrace if anything.. My goal is to break 150 without any real tuning (ie NOT in a competition car, being thrown in a rental) and i'd like mid 50s for my competition car on the single 15. This isn't an overnight goal, moreso a 2009 goal.
Edit: For the record, its i believe 12 lbs heavier than the mojo, but looks more like a mojo on steroids.
Lord Baccus is Brian over on SSA and PAP's site. My personal friend who got me into Audio. He used to live 5 minutes from me, now he lives in Baton Rouge, Louisana.
I had a Soundstream XXX 15", he wanted it...so we traded, and he gave me $200 to boot...I couldn't complain..
I got the chance to only have it in a musical box @ 4 cubes, and a SPL box @ 2 cubes..
The 4 cube box, it responded extremely well. Good cone control, being the smallness of the box.. I had both Sundown 1500D's strapped to it, where each amp recieved 0.5 ohm, and it got stupid insane loud..just pounding the **** out of my car.
Very well built, love the modular motor...and heavy as ***k, in the 2 cube box, I aero-ported the box..2 cubes after displacement, not the optimum SPL box, 2.5 was so-called optimum..and it did a 148.9 cutting out @ volume 10.. I figured out my low-voltage problem, charged the batts up and ran again...151dB @ 55Hz...
More tuning, more playing with the set-up, and I had a 152+ there easy, out of a trunk car no less...
I've got pics of when I owned it... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Unfortunately I traded it to TeZ for a RE XXX 12" and cash...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
