4" components

I am kinda limited for space in the front end of my Celica and would like to get some reccomendations for some 4" components. I am thinking of the older FNQs from Fosgate because of the power handling (I know I can turn down the gains). I will be running them of of the front channel of a Rockford Fosgate 25 to life Power 1000 so around 100w is my target power handling per side.

I am presently running a set of 12year old Kicker Impulse 4.2i that have served me well but I think it is time to shelf them.

hell just noticed your in germany there is a dealer real close to you than me Italy where they are made check the link and see the dealer page or use ground Zero SQ stuff they make awsome 4" anyway there are dealers for AD acroos europe im in australia so it would be cheaper to buy from europe my price is better but woith post may aswell buy fro the EU m8

Hmm, interesting speakers, but I'd like to see more manufacturer data. I can only laugh at the 10mm xmax they list for the 3.5" and 4" drivers. The only thing I'm familiar with that has that kind of travel is Aura and that's only mechanical limits, not xmax which is more like 3mm.

You're going to be hard-pressed to find very capable 4" speakers. Your biggest limitation is excursion. You have to move a lot of air to get low and limiting yourself to only 4" makes the need for high excursion all that much greater. You can EQ in lower frequencies, but you will be greatly limited in overall output. If possible, it would be beneficial to fit 5.25" or 6.5" speakers in the doors somewhere, even if you have to do a little trimming of the door panel and sheet metal. The performance gain as well as speaker selection is generally worth the effort. You'll have to decide if you want to put forth the effort. My only other suggestion if you want to stick with 4" speakers is to run a seperate, dedicated, larger midbass woofer in the door. to suplement the low end. If you want to keep things simple, you could just run an inline capacitor and inductor to control the crossover point between the midbass and midrange. If you're dead set on sticking to a 4" set, just keep excursion in mind. It will be your greatest limitation in overall capability.

They look like a nice set but looking at all aspects (price, shipping, power handling, etc) the Fosgate Q's are my top choice so far
