4 ohms or 2 ohms

i'm sure no difference in SQ between the two. definately 2 ohm will get louder. you answered your own question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Umm....exactly how is 2 Ohm "louder" than 4 Ohms, fellas?

spaz ~ If you have a pair of Dual 4 Ohm Type Rs and you plan on running them together you cannot wire them to a nominal 2 Ohm load.

See here for the potential wiring options of a pair of Dual 4 Ohm subs (1 Ohm or 4 Ohms)

and to get them to pull 2 ohm i wire each sub with the positive loopin from one voice coil to the other then the amp, same for the negative right. each sub will prob have its own amp. just makin sure i got this

Okay - if you are going to amp each sub individually then I retract my previous statement. You most certainly can run each sub by itself at 2 Ohms....just not together on the same amplifier. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif My bad.
2 ohms has less resistance so its louder
You are correct in the portion of this regarding 2 Ohms being lesser resistance than 4 Ohms.
You are incorrect asserting those last three words.

2 ohms is NOT louder. A 2ohm sub getting 200W and a 4 ohm sub getting 200W will be the same other factors being equal. Wiring the subs to 2 ohms might get more power out of the amp, but that doesn't mean the 2 ohms is louder. The fact that it can usually get more power from the amp will make the result louder but it is the extra power that makes it louder.

my assumption for my statement is that he can either hook up his subs in a final impedance configuration of 4 ohm and 2 ohms. that being said thats why i stated 2 ohms will get louder due to him getting more power.

but again thats my fault for not reading the whole thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif .

Assuming your subwoofers have dual 4ohm voice coils;

If each one will have it's own amp, then it's impossible to wire each sub for a 4ohm load.

Each amp would have to run at 2ohms, as you would have to wire each sub to 2ohms.
