4 kicker l7 12's vs. 2 fi btl 18's.

I had two fi btl 18's on 4k watts, and it slammed. Now, I wanna try something new and I think I like 4 12's. On the same 4k watts, do you guys think the l7's will be even close? With 12 cubes ported(of course). Cone area should be roughly the same. Thoughts?

Yeah, but the kicker's square design gives them a supposed 16 - 20 percent advantage over round subs. That would be more like 520+ inches for the l7's.

It's actually 400in^2 vs 375in^2 with the advantage going to the 12s; Sd is a real spec of speakers and not something you have to estimate.

I doubt the 12s will be much louder though. They may do better over a spectrum but at a single peak frequency, I would give it to the BTLs.
