4 12's vs 1 18?

ok i jus got done puttin in 4 polk momo 12's and 2 kicker amps(750.1, birth sheets confirm im gettin about 1900 watts total though) so as far as a daily driver and some spl will one top of the line 18" fi dual 2 and put one amp per coil be better than my 4 12's? and be serious jus cause someone don like polk don mean they **** and jus cause you own an fi don mean its better either i wanna know if losing cone area in trade for more power to one sub would push more air, and can one 18" in a jeep cherokee do the hair trick? i enjoy listening to my music but i also like to "play" with my music(flip things on the roof annoy ppl at stop lights all that good stuff? let me know, or even 2 15's i mean i got close to 2k watts to play with so what subs/sub would best do spl on these amps!

I'd keep the cone area. you would be cutting your cone area in half with 1 18"

maybe try different box configurations, larger port, etc with what you have now.

huge negative i jus like messin with people, i hardly ever have my subs up when in the car. but like the friday i pulled up beside this dude and his kid was staring at me while eatin a burger so i put on push that ni**a by lil jon and turned it up i think the kid might have choked on that bite but the light was green so didnt stick around to laugh! and not a "kid" def 24 with 4 kids of my own so no i cant have the system up with them in, only time im in it alone is lunch break at work really so i got 30 mins a day to play with my subs!

yeah uh 4 12's should be louder than an 18 given the motor force but it's dependant on the type of subs/box/install. i'm not too familiar with the polk momo's specs but if you're getting 2k to the btl, you still won't be able to do can tricks or hair tricks. i had 2 18'' btl's in a blazer off a saz-3000d, wired at .5 ohm before i got my 2nd 3000d and i still was barely able to do hair tricks. i'd personally get rid of those 12's because i know polk isn't too great with their subs. you could do 2 18'' FI Q's for a little more than the price of a BTL and they would be perfect off that power that you have.

I say try and get some different subs. going from 4 12s to 1 18 is gonna get you on cone area. realize the polks are not meant to be loud subs, they are a sq sub. I had two of those back when I have a grand am and they weren't very loud, but sounded good nonetheless.

most def one of the best sounding subs i've heard on the SQ factor, and they get loud, i know im over 145db now with the 4 i jus got, i had three ten polk momos back a couple years ago and they knocked good too, i jus want somethin thats great on SQ yet nasty spl too! but im doubting that theres a sub that can do it all is there!?

145 is quite easy, especially with 4 12s. I say keep the setup you have and redo the box or do upgrades to the amp/wiring/electrical. Are you tyring to be loud to ear or loud on the meter? a lot of times, you may be loud on the meter and not too loud to the ear, or loud to the ear and not high on the meter.
