Ill go ahead and say it now, i want to run the 2-18s over the 4 12s. But you always need a back up plan for anything thats is pre planned lol.

Im looking for better output between the 2 for music/spl. The org i compete in(not really often tho) runs a music average type org. I dont tune really low, i usually tune around 38hz because it gives me MY medium of SPL/Daily.

So to the subject at hand, looking for opinions on 4-12s vs 2-18s. Each have their pros & cons in my situation. The 18s of course have a alittle more cone area. The 12s will have more motor force. Im just looking for opinions on what you think the better option would be.

2-18's-

Will have more cone area, but will require a larger enclosure. I am looking at about 9.8 cubes net at max, might as well say 10 cubes close enough lol.

4-12s-

Will have more motor force, these will require less enclosure which will allow me to build a better suited enclosure for them which in turn would possibly wield better output and performance. With the space that i have at a estimated 9.8 cubes, it would more and likely better in the end.

Your thoughts please, & thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

.The 12's in a proper box versus the 18's in less than proper. I would go with the 12's for efficiency all day. the difference in cone area would be negated by a more efficient enclosure. Go with the 12's i seen u were going with oa 18's. Why not 4 12 v3's?

idk what brand of 12 yet i was just weighing out the differences. The more i thought about it the more the 12s made sense to me. Im looking for some cheap budget lower power 12s but havnt set on a brand just yet.

Did you say budget lower power 12s?

I thought 4 twelves have more cone area than 2 18's.48 vs.36 inches?unless I don't know what cone area is.either way I think 4 12's will be louder
na 1-18 = 254.34 square inches & 2-12 = 226.08 square inches
