well i currently have 4 12' 2ohm CVR's thinking about selling them or placing them in another vehicle. Ive only had 2 installed at one time and it wasnt that loud. i really want a SPL setup for my new car so what will be better? installing the 4 CVR's or going for the 2 15's? thanks! for your help!

4 CVR's all the way. With 12's, you get a sense for whats going on. With 15's, its just to make your car rattle basically. If you want them to be loud, hook up 2 subs to a 1000 watt or so amp, them repeat with the other 2.

How much power you working with?

The 15 inch subs im looking toward are either CVX's or solobarics. Right now i have a hifonics amp i bought of car audio about a year ago for $250 dont know the model number right off hand but it puts off 1500rms at one ohm. i know this wont push 2 12's so im gonna upgrade really would like to run amp for my subs. what about a kicker 1500.1 would this amp be sufficent??? thanks.

Had 4 CVR's on about 1800 rms ported sounded good' date=' but for some reason im kinda leaning toward the CVX's and the zx2500 even though the CVR's will have more cone area.[/quote']the cvx's will dominate the cvr's fo sho,i had 1 cvr and it was ok for what it was.i luvs my cvx now that i have a diff hu.it wont matter bout cone area if you go with the cvx's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Well i was shopping for 15' subs either SOLOBARICS OR THE CVX'S. BUT I think the CVR's will be the smartest decision especially since i already have them so all i need now is a amp and a box. Do you think that kicker 1500.1 will power the subs good enough? and what type of box would you go with? going in a 1985 Cutlass Supreme. Thanks

If the CVR's are dual 4 ohms. that amp will be perfect. Thats going to be pretty loud. I dont know what it is about those cars but they are really easy to make loud.

Edit: Try looking for a used Sundown 1500d that would be a pretty good match, think this amp was mentioned earlier in the thread.

No they are dual 2ohms so its either 1 or 4ohms...... I want to go with another hifonics i know they dont do tru power but atleast they are 1ohm stable. got about $350 to spend. I have a Hifonics Txi 1508D ill probaly end up selling or trading for something bigger

I would put around 2000 watts to them. I think you could find a suitable amp in that price range that does 2000 rms @1 ohm. Try looking in the classifieds. You have four CVR's right?

Edit: think it was mentioned earlier but look for a used sundown 1500d. This would be a pretty good match
