3x JL 12w6 or 2x 15" Fi BTL or 1x 18" Fi BTL

Hey guys,

Lately I have been trying to decide with what setup I should go with. Right not I'm selling my JL 12w6 with the rest of my setup but if I don't end up selling it, I might just buy 2 more and get the audiopipe 30001d amp.

However, I was wondering what would be a better choice for a setup? I want something that hits hard, and if I want to show it off, I want people to be very impressed. I listen to all types of music, techno, rap, rock, no country. However I don't just want loose *** constant bass, I want the hit to be solid and with at least some quality. I want real bass, not sloppy bass, if you know what I mean.

I'm trying to decide between 3x JL Audio 12w6v2's, 2x 15" Fi Audio BTL's, or 1x 18" Fi Audio BTL.

I have never listened to the BTL in person, I have seen youtube videos and it seems very nice, but thats just a video.

Also, I drive a 2000 Subaru Outback (Wagon), so I have a fairly decent amount of space in the back.

You're comparing two different kinds of subs. The JL is more of a SQ sub, whereas the BTL is loud while still retaining some semblance of "good" sound. What is your goal exactly?

I know they are completely different. My goal is LOUDNESS, but still retaining some quality. I want it to be really loud, but still at least some quality.

ive never heard the btl in person, but a buddy of mine had two 12w6v2s and they were sooooper loud and sounded very good getting there

2 15s has roughly 40% more cone area than 1 18. theres a chart around someplace that shows a little more precisely, accounting for surround width... i just did the surface area of 2 15 inch circles and an 18 inch one real quick. the 18 also has a deeper cone since its wider, the slope comes in more making up a bit of that surface area gap.

the actual number is probably 30-35 percent, but still... thats a lot more cone. i'm planning on swapping my 2 18s for 4 15s soon.

i'd go with btls over jls, but make sure you have them built for 1500w each. loaded btls will laugh at that.

If you got everything hooked up already, than I can come by for a listen if your not busy? I will most likely buy the 18 though, if you don't end up selling it. I just want to get rid of my stuff first. How much would you be selling the audiopipe 3000's for?

JL's can get loud, you just need the perfect amp and box for them. Box's for JL's is a huge deal. I love my 12w6v2, but the BTL's are extremely loud from videos that I have seen.

If you have enough room do the 15's, If not do the 18.
