There is +3db button on my 6x9's to adjust tweeter output. Do you recomend that i enable the +3db? I am amping them btw.

"The 6822cf also features a tweeter level adjustment located on the front of the speaker and can be set at the reference level of 0dB. If the speakers are located low in the doors or if you are looking for a brighter sound, set the tweeter at +3dB."

Well the infinty's are usually a little harsh but I am curious to find out if you guys think it is more of a marketing gimmick than a quality enhancement.

its like a component system, where you can attenuate the tweeter, with a passive system, you will never add more than you have, the +3 is actually 0db, and 0db is actually -3, just too fool people into thinking your adding dem highz to yo syssem pluz dat eq +9 on deh highz and dey b tweeking tisk tisk tisk tshshhshhshssssssshshshshshsshshshshsk

they are just so **** loud

I have those same speakers in the rear deck. I dont notice a difference tbh.

However, I have the 6820cs comps in the front. I originally had them at +3db. It sucked big time. Every word or note that had that sssssssshhhhhhhh sound was emphasized heavily. It was ear piercing. The 0db fixed that.

bad thing is alot of people want that sound, i cant even listen to it with out cringing, it hurts

we sell hertz and people come in and listen to them and they ask if they are so good where are the highs at...just walk them over straight to the 15$ tweeters on the factory door speakers and they are happy

You own a shop?

Ive been thinking about replacing my infinitys. But they really arent bad speakers. They are a little lacking on the lower end of the sound spectrum, but I have two IDQs that help make up for that.

They seem geared towards treble fiends.
