360 RROD rate?

My Refund is about here.. i wanna get a 360 but.. i posted on the Xbox forums and some people are on their 3rd Replacement.. in a year.. lol... i heard the new Falcons etc are much better about NOT RROD... but alot of people said they do.. so will i be wasting my money buying one to find out i'll be sending it in for repairs in acouple months?

there hit or miss..

got mine on black friday and its a new production one,

no problems , yet.. knock on wood none come up..

but first copy of fallout 3 was glitched.. but target returned it with no questions .. new copy hasnt glitched yet ..

Ive gone throught 2.

My first ones power supply failed. Luckily I got the extended warranty from best buy. This was long before microsoft implemented the 3 year extended warranty(i think its 3 years) for all consoles.

My current one has had no issues.

I've had my box for a year and a half and no RROD. And I've used it as a tournament box, running for 12 hours straight.

Heres what you do. Go to bestbuy, and get the 2 year extended warranty. When it dies you drop it off and exchange it. Easier than sending it in, paying for shipping, and waiting to get it fixed.

i just sent mine in after a year and a few months.

filled out the form on the microsoft site , they sent a box with a prepaid return thing. i didnt pay for anything other than the gas to drop it off at ups.

i've had mine since it came out. had the rrod once a couple months after i got it. other than th at both 360's i have are fine. if you are that worried about it purchase the 2 yr warranty on it for like 40.00

im on my 4th xbox, never had the red ring of death, first two randomly quit reading discs, and the third one would hardly ever boot up, but the newest one is been good so far, and best buy rules for exchanging xboxs
