You contemplate painting matching that surface with the Ivory looking color?

Did you do the dash as well? (Screen and such...)

the doors will be wrapped, stitched, upholstered the same color/material as the new interior when it gets done...no paint on those. yup i did the dash, center console and piece that goes inside the cupholder area for voltmeter and AirRide Technologies...they will all PROBABLY get painted black with an automotive finish. Black matches everything so it should work out good. I still have more sanding to do on the dash piece but not much more. No "Ivory" to match......if you meant matching the paint, its not gonna be white anymore when were done. That is on the list of things to change as well.

hey steve... just out of curiosity... i know the lac has bags and handles all the extra weight fairly well, but i was wonder in both Chickens lac and in your tahoe... how much extra weight are they carrying?

i know it has to be alot... im only running 2 15's in my tahoe and with deadening and cable and amps blah blah blah, i added almost 800 lbs. (my box weighs almost 300)

Nine: I think im rollin with at least an extra 1,000lbs in the Hoe.......chickens 'Lade is probably sporting well over

2,000lbs......lets see:

roughly-

8 18's @ 67lbs each = 536

5 D3100 batts @ 77lbs each = 385

2 RF T15k @ 200lb each = 400

box - mdf, resin, 2x4, vortex lining multiple layers of glass = ???500lbs maybe?

Deadener im guessing 100lbs

Nitrogen bottle for bags= 100lbs (guess)

oh crap....wiring...****...at LEAST 300lbs (multiple runs of 1/0 plus some 2/0 and cant forget tons of 4ga ran from rear to front)

without the 26 midbass, midrange and highs plus of course MDF and glass on doors......its already over 2300.

you installs are always quite nice. i like that you tend so stray from the mainstream and do your own thing. not exactly my style, but have tons of respect for your build quality and attention to detail.

and as soon as AQ comes out with the 18" HDC3's i think you should see if you could talk dj into "loaning" you some for some drop in testing in the HOE. not suggesting you should switch because i know the Fi treats you well... but it would be interesting to see how the numbers would change. as many BTL vs HDC3 thread as are going on right now i think your truck would be the perfect platform for a comparison.

i hate the idea, of having the indash, and the monitor, i think it looks dumb, but the implementation is sick to say the least.

your post is pretty much right on with what i did.....see i also didnt like the idea of two screens for the caddy. Thats why i got him a single din alpine, a good one, but no flip. Im personally "over" the flip screen deck these days......and the 10.2 i did could have been a little bigger but i wanted touch screen w/ windows xp. I like the bigger monitor, looks nice, but i couldnt find touch screen in anything larger. i mean i can wrestle the subs out if i was REALLY motivated but i would also risk damaging the mirror'd plexi.
