Look for a good, steady mutual fund. They tend to have nice returns and be a pretty safe investment as well. Some of the best ones have been operating for 50+ years averaging 10% or so per year (double your money in 7ish years)

I didn't mean you were a no brainer, that's the part that's not any bit easy is the looking part. You can either blow it or let it sit somewhere that earns while you decide what to do with it.

Seriously, land is one of the best things to invest in. Folks are right is it a quick dollar? Not always. Can you over triple your investment ? Absolutely. I would really consult with someone who knows real estate in your area.or an investor you trust. There are many things to make money with but legally that takes more time.
