300zx fiberglassed hatch

i may be doing an instal in a jdm 93 300zx tt soon. im not the most skilled with fiberglass but i think im pretty sure i can handle it. the enclosure is going to house a type x powerd by a apline mono amp. he also wants to possibly have a nitrous bottle encorperated into it. here is the basic idea i have for it. of course, it is not to scale or anything, it just gives you an idea of what it might be like



since i havent done a fiberglass project this size, im wondering how much fiberglass resin/mat i can expect to use

id say around 6 bags if its the 8-9 sq ft bags... and probably over a gallon of resin depending on what all you plan to be fiberglass

you will need proabaly 6 layers. make sure u get random fiberd mat cause nit sucks

yea he says he wants the whole trunk to be fiberglassed. im not exactly sure how big the hatch area is so its hard to say. i will try and get pics of the hatch with lots of measurements asap

yea he wants it all glassed, but im not fully clear of his idea for it yet..it may be compeltely different from mine

i guess i may as well bump this. hes droping the car off today, however i dont beleive he wants the same thing anymore. by the sounds of it, he wants his 12" type x glassed into the spare tire well facing out the hatch at a subtle angle. i will make a build log after i start
