i got 2 type r 1242d (4ohm) subs

and the wiring on the manual is pretty weird

is this configuration really better?

and what exactly do the jumper cables do?

i also found this wiring config.

http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg

so which one should i use thanks

im thinking the alpine manual was using a mono amp ?

but i got a 2 channel amp

Ultimately, they will perform the same. The jumper cable simply wires the two coils together, rather than running a separate wire for each that would connect the coils at the amplifier's speaker terminals.
