+3% for Paypal?!

Okay, Scooby - here's an example for you...

Let's say that there is three different members selling the exact same item - widget from here on out...and it's just the widget that you've been looking for to complete your collection of like widgets.

All three members reckon that said widget is worth $150 used.

Two of the three post in their FS threads that they want $150 + shipping + 3% PP fees.

The third takes a different route and asks $155 + shipping. The additional $5 in the asking price, of course, being to cover the transaction fee for accepting a PayPal payment.

All three sellers are asking for the same amount of money at the end of the day - are you telling us that you would buy from Seller 3 simply because his FS thread didn't specifically mention that the buyer would be covering the PP fees rather than the seller eating them and being glad for making the sale?!?

I would also look for clarity in the FS thread, detailed descriptions, clear pictures and the willingness to answer whatever questions I had about the item. Also what are the final shipped prices and what are the sellers reputations like.

If all things are equal then yes I would rather buy from the seller who is abiding by the TOS agreement that they accepted when they signed up for paypal.

That's just the thing - none of the prospective sellers are technically abiding by PayPal's TOS.

The difference is that Seller 3 has simply padded his asking price to cover the fees rather than specifically asking that the buyer add that the the total.

It's the exact same destination albeit by a different route..

I suppose you could look at it that way, but flat out asking for the fee is definately breaking the TOS agreement. Including it descretely only implys that you think the widget is worth a few bucks more than your counterparts or that you may have to drive a few extra miles to drop it off at the shipper.

Either way I would still prefer it if they all included shipping in the final price as well;)
