+3% for Paypal?!

Nope.

My fees are like 2.9 + $0.30. I'm not sure where the difference comes in, but I've heard people say that before. 5% is kinda excessive... maybe that's with business accounts or some shit? I dunno.

Then just add the 3% to the price you want and no one will know you did it, and in the end every one wins.
EXACTLY!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Shipped price is just that, the end price for an item shipped to the buyer.

Shipped price + 3% is not an end shipped price.

I absolutely hate when someone clearly states in their auction/sale/ad/whatever "add 3% for Paypal", and I will not be buying anything from them because of that. It just comes off as cheap.

I've done TONS of transactions through Paypal, and I've had a few people even offer to add extra cash to make up for the fees, but I tell them don't worry about it. I remember someone sent it and told me they added some extra, I went as far as to refund them the fees, and told them don't worry about it.

I've had many ~$6-700 transactions with Paypal, and I deal with the fees myself- that's the cost of doing business through a medium, such as Paypal. I chose to use it, I'll deal with the cost of using it myself.

There are so many items on here at any given time I don't even bother with the people who can't figure out that instead of being an idiot and asking $50 plus 3% paypal fees, just ask for $55 for the item. It looks better and you actually end up making more.

IMO the easiest way to sell shit here is to include(fees, shipping charges, cost of materials) in the selling price that way the final price is clearly stated in the thread.

Who the hell is gonna wanna inquire about a FS post that reads:

Sub for sale $50+paypal fees+shipping

By the time all that crap is added up it is gonna be about $75 so just make it $75 shipped to begin with!

Also a clear, detailed description and picture of the item is a must, but that is a different topic;)

Come on people Why can't you get things through your head, The 3% fee that paypal charges is a service fee to you and you agreed to it in your contract with paypal.. Why must you try to be slick and charge it extra?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifIf you offer something for $100. shipped then the person excepting that agreement is excepting your price at $100, no more and no less. So if you think that is not fair then set your SHIPPED price to include the paypal fees. That would then make it a leagal transaction... If you do tell a buyer that they should cover the paypal fees then the buyer can forward your email to Paypal and get your account suspended...

Your shipped price should be that a total price SHIPPED for the item. Stop being so petty.

Sorry just venting.

whats the big ****ing deal to add $3?

whats the big ****ing deal to add $3?
The big deal is that it is violating paypals TOS agreement and it is annoying to some people, me included

What is the big deal with just asking for $103 shipped or even $105 shipped? Why is a few bucks on $100 such a big deal?

I would rather pay $105 to a seller that clearly states a price than pay $100+3% to some ******* that needs to nickle and dime you for extra cash.

eh..... make buyers send money orders? But who wants to wait that extra couple of days to get your money...........

the 3 percent is the deal there for the quick payment. If you do not want to get paid instantly, then dont use it.

At least sales tax isnt in the final price......(I know you do not have to pay if it is out of state, but you should catch my drift.)

Plus, the extra 3 percent of paypal costs on most of the things sold on this site shouldnt exceed 10-15 dollars....... Its not a big deal for the buyer or seller in my eyes. What's a whole 3 dollars per 100.... unless you are buying a 2000 dollar amp I dont see it being too huge of a deal.

ok so 105 is ok but 100+3% is someone trying to nickel and dime you?
hows that make sense
because they are actually asking for $3 off a $100 transaction, that is pretty petty if you ask me

if they are really that desperate for cash just sell it for $103, or even $105, it will look much better than asking for 3% fees and i would easily pay a few bucks more to someone who doesnt come off as a begger

i persoanlly never ask for the 3%, if someone wants to add it its up to them. i always add it just to be cutious.

but whatever you say scoobydoo. they dont come off as a begger at all to me.

your logic is rather unlogical. i just dont see why you think that
