honestley i dont like the way ported sounds. i just had a 13w7 and it sounded really boomy. not accurate. and it got really distorted under the port freq

I would say see if you can find some used rl-ps. If you have problems with space get 2 sealed or 1 ported. Everyone has different tast when it comes to how they like their speakers to sound but my rl-p sounded excellent ported. Can not speak on the L7s, never dealt or realy listen tp them besides in a shop.

correct, better to have the right box and a tad less cone than more cone, in an enclosure not optimized to perform the best.
