2x IDQ12 vs 1x IDMAX 12

The 1800 peak I think I saw on an ebay auction or something, so you're right - ID recommends 200-1000rms.

The amp is a Hifonics XX Zeus, so yeah, 1600w @ 1ohm. I could run it at 2 ohms, but it just seems like such a waste . Mind you blowing the sh!t out of an expensive sub would be a bigger waste.

I already have a sealed fiberglass box that I want to use. It's 2 and a bit cubes total, so twin max's in there might be tight.

Other thing to keep in mind I guess is that I'm not into cranking the piss out of it that much. I listen to a lot of rock/metal/industrial alternative, so not a lot of pounding. Only reason I bought the zeus was cuz last time I was interested in car audio was about 8 years back, so when I saw 1600wrms for $400 I shat jizzed and pissed myself all while punching in my CC#.

No, I've seen em go on ebay for around the $250 mark, and not too long ago, someone was selling a pair of them on here for $500 + shipping.

There is a pair on ebay right now for BUY IT NOW, $600.

which one is their top line one....thats what Im thinking of...someone just posted their new one recently...i thought it was like 6-700

1600 wrms? dat gives u 800 watts each for the sbs? go with a pair of idmaxes and lever look back.

the mags are suppose to have great sq and get **** loud. if you can fit 2 max's then i would say try and go for 1 15" mag and if your trying to keep that custom 2.2 sealed box then that would work good for the mag

Mag > IDmax IMO

On AIM, talk to Boomer57183, he used to have 2 12" IDMAX but has since switched to a single 15XXX, he's a good guy.

I don't mind the idea of the 15, I have to have a pretty close look this weekend though to see if I can make it fit. The old front baffle for my box is only 16" wide where the sub would be. Id suggest a si mag of ne type of 2 id maxes. 15 of 12 si mag is still amazing. give the beast around 800 watts and watch it singggg

that's definitely more than enough power for two max's...even two mag's....
