2cu ft @ 35HZ vs 2.25cu ft @ 40hz

I dunno about that freq, but I just made a 2.1(after sub displacement, was 2.5 orig.) tuned to 28 hz for my Audiobahn immortal and I lost a little on the top end but the lows are just crazy, never heard 1 12 get that low and loud at the same time, dont here most 15s do it either around here. Now I got a bunch of guys at work wanting me to make them a box which I dont mind cause it will be good for practice

you know what, just go and build that 2.25 one, i assume you got it off their site, the powerful enclosure. with the T1/ T2 being more if a SPL sub, bigger box and tuned higher would sound louder. if you went with a smaller box and tune lower you might as well try it sealed and see how you like it.

Well if that's not retarded logic...

The 2.0 @ 35 will give you more low end and will be louder on the lower stuff than the 40hz enclosure. The other enclosure will be louder on stuff around 45hz or so but will lack output on the lower songs.

alright guys thanks alot...i ended up sketching up the design for the 2.25 @ 40hz

here's what it'll look like finished...im hoping to do it this weekend if i can walk a lil better....stupid dirtbike wheelies haha...got my leg all casted up but that isn't stopping me from hearing my bass lol

2cu ft @ 35HZ vs 2.25cu ft @ 40hz.....2.25 is what is recommended but what would i gain or lose by making a box that is the 2cu ft @ 35hz...sub is a RF T112D4
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif got mine at 2.25cuft 32hz and it hits hard!ZThe sq is grate for rap

Stay with RF's recommended volume and port area but lower the tuning to 32-35hz. It'll sound much better for music. I have my HX2 12s in 2.25ea tuned to 32hz.

why not try 2 cubes @ 40 hz or 2.25 cubes @ 35 hz? Typically when people are restricted to small box volumes they tune higher so the port takes up less space and the box will still get plenty loud. I would go with 2.25 cubes at 35 hz. I just installed 2 T112D4s in 4.4 cubes net @ 32 hz and it gets super loud with 500 watts on each sub.

If you're worried about the port taking up too much space then use a 4" aeroport. IIRC the cutout is 10.875". Check the owner's manual to be sure though.
