Where did you pick the subs up at? Online or locally? A&B wants $1400 + taxes each here in BC. Little too rich for my blood.

Which seller did you get em from? "New" or used? I'm interested in how they work out for you. I wonder if the serials are removed, or where they are on the sub.

My friend had a 13w7 on a 1000/1 in a sealed JL box. He went and got a ported box made to JL specs, the difference was unbelievable. DO NOT GO SEALED!

I have now heard 4 different W7 Setups.....the 1 15" Eclipse TI. blows them all out of the water, no questions asked, in every category. I am not impressed by the W-7 for what you pay for it especially....those 2 12"s you just picked up...I could get 12-14 Type R's for the same price. So I hope you got a good deal on them.

I vote Ported...where I work they almost always port them and they hit so frickin' hard it's just ridiculous!!!!! Poped a trunk open once...saw it myself.

And what size boxes are these? Tuned to what freq?

And its gotta be loud, like loud as all hell breaking loose :\

I mean I think the amp/sub combination is nice, so I dont see how it coulg get THAT much better with something else.

I paid lots for them, yes, but the amp was a ton cheaper than retail.

u havent heard the right setups... I have 2 12 w7 s in a 4.6^3 net ported enclosure tuned to 28 hz.. and a 4^3 enclosure tuned to 40 hz, and i ve hit 149.3 off 2500 rms.. it s not hard to do at all. As i recall ... I beat my buddys 15" TI by over 3 db... Not much at first but considering his was mounted inverted.. (because it was louder ) and in an s-10 ext cab.. compared to my grand am (trunk) i think it says alot.. Yes it s 1 15 vs 2 12 s but then again ppl keep telling me w7 s will not get loud and i keep trying to defend that they can alll for the reason that most people dont TRY .. All im doing is making a 150 db street beater out of 2 w7 s .. I mean come on if ppl. think a type r is tempermental about boxes , try a w7 , i just think it would be funny to see w7 s at finals .. Namely me , in street C .. i believe i can get 154 ish street c (4 12 s ) if i try but id never make it to finals due to the fact that there is no sanctioned db drag shows within like 300 miles of me ... But as for the post we tested a 13w7 and a 2500d at .75 ohms and it was amazing never bottomed out or had many problems other than playing music for 6 hours at a show + burps at 3 kw.. And it was one of the loudest best sounding subs i ve heard.. a XXX runner as far as power goes

No it s a good combo, but i like how the jl amps sound, the 1000/1 is a lil over 1200 rms, and they seem to be cleaner but yet have more of a boom to them compared to the orions, gotta love a good regulated amp, but holy crap does a 1000/1 pull some amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Contrary to many beliefs, W7's are optimized for sealed use. But they do extremely well ported. 2 12's sealed off a 2500D should get plenty loud and retain awesome SQ. IMO, W7's don't lose much sound quality when ported but they do gain some nice output. I'd port them if you have the room.

My setup??? same car same song 1 13w7 at.75 ohms and 1 13w7 on 2 1000/1 s one per coil, on a scope .. dunno if u want anything else?
