I currently have a Kenwood MP-4028 which does serve it's purpose and I really don't have any complaints, however I think that I'd like a new deck.

I don't need any EQ functions, I have the Clarion EQ774 equalizer and two amps(d1200.1 viper and eD nine.2) with front 5 1/8" components and a diamond d6 10" in the hatch.

Basically I just want good clean output, lots of cool features etc. anyone have ideas?

Another cool thing about the x889 and x789 is that they have the color displays, as well as the g-analyzer function that shows your car turning as you take turns on the screen, and measures your lateral acceleration (not incredibly accurate, but fun nonetheless).

Kenwood X889.

I generally don't recommend Kenwoods, but for $220, you get:

24-bit Burr Brown DACs, 5V preout, a pretty nice display, and apparently whatever the hell "PhatNoise" is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hard to beat for that price.

I would pick that up in a minute if I had the money right now, but I'm actually looking to buy in a month. Think it'll still be up for that price? If not, how expensive is it?

And, if it won't be in my range, what other decks would suit my needs?

Keep an eye on Alpine decks. They should be going on clearance here before too long with the new lineup rolling out soon.

The Pioneer 860MP is a great option aswell.

I've never been a big fan of Kenwood.....

Check also Raven2201, got a Clarion Dxz855 it should match perfect with your Clarion eq,also the unit is touch screen,a cool unit for a hell of a price.

PhatNoise is software that comes with the hu. it has burning software and media manager. Very nice and works great.

yeah it might still be on clearance when you are ready. if they haven't sold out. just check when you have the money.

It alows you to control a Phatbox or Music Keg.

Which is basically like a CD changer (it plugs in the same way) but it's a hard drive and you can put all of your music on it.

It's huge with the VW/Audi crew because they are plug and play with our factory radios.
