it is big.

That's a pro audio driver for SR. B&C has a very solid reputation for making quality units among the pro sound guys . That thing will get loud in the right app and sound very good doing it. Look at the LE rating, neo motor, 6" vc, custom frame etc. It is not expensive without reason. An IA DP is not intended for the same app at all.

6" voice coil and yet 1500 rms power handling. I guess that begs the question, why utilize such a large coil, with all the associated disadvantages, if you aren't intending on building a high wattage SPL driver? I guess I just dont understand the design goals of this driver. Pro sound... meh.

Im curious what its real xmax figure would be. Im always VERY suspicious when a company lists peak-to-peak numbers instead. What do they have to hide? The accordion style surround doesn't look even look like its capable of the 30mm xmech the specs claim. But apparently it is.

Might be worth $750 for a pro sound guy, but Im not feeling it.

3,000 watt continuous program power capacity 6" copper voice coil wound on glass fiber former

30-1,000 Hz response

95 dB sensitivity

60 mm peak-to-peak excursion before damage

Neodymium ring magnet allows a very high force factor and linear excursion

Double silicone spider with optimized compliance

Ventilated voice coil gap for reduced power compression

Aluminum demodulating ring decreases distortion

Undercut pole piece

Triple roll surround

Water-resistant cone coating
Daaamn!

its a pro audio driver dumbass, look at any proaudio driver and you will see a high sensitivity. Its not meant to pound out 30hz, most of the time they are run full range. I wouldnt even call it a subwoofer, its a driver. Its made to play with a lot of power for hours at a time, not do burps, or play a few songs in the parking lot.

would be good in a dj set up.
if I build a club, which i want to do one day (yea its a dumbass dream) it will have car subs. I hat when you go out and yea it has hard hittin bass, like kick drums in your chest, but no lows. I would love to build a 50,000w system and pound out 30's.

What disadvantages would you be referring to?

Until the police show up for noise violations, which is why clubs dont do that to start with.

The only reasoned I joined in the first place was to pm a guy about something he had for sale. I generally stay away from childish stuff like this. Equating someone's knowledge of audio with their join date or post count is silly. I simply tried to provide some info about the drivers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif.

If you don't understand what it's for or why there a lot of positive strengths to it that's fine. Just don't buy it.

Hey! you can't talk to him like that. He has more posts than you.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

30 hz lowest end on a 21inch?
The rated frequency response is typically just based on the Fs of the driver....which at 29hz is actually pretty low for a pro sound driver. But in their intended application, as was mentioned, sub-30hz sound reproduction isn't really all that important anyways.
