This was a friends car I did. Hit a few rough patches but it came out really clean in the end. I haven't done a lot of work on the newer cars so this was a learning experience for me. In the end though he was happy and I think it came out pretty clean.

It's too bad the dash kit doesn't match the stock texture. How tough was it to get the speaker wire into the front doors, and were you able to replace the covers over the tweeter locations? I have a 2011 that I'm going to start on in the near future.

I used a good old wire coat hanger to get the speaker wire into the doors. Just need to take your time to make sure you dont punch a hole through. As for the tweeters yes I was able to use the stock tweeter covers. The mount plates I made sat low enough for everything to fit right. I was going to wrap the dash kit in suede but ran out of time before the guy moved. The other advice I can give to you is get the modules and adapters for everything ie the steering wheel controls and things like that it made this install a lot easier.

What yr? I just installed an aftermarket h/u in my roommates 99 max w/bose and it was pretty easy. Took me less than 10mins to get the radio out.
2006, it was a generation after those 99 ones. I always hear how easy those are to work on too.
