Okay so a few months back I had gotten a pair of dual 12's installed into my car. When I talked to the installer, I asked him to hook up to my "factory sub" thinking that one existed in my car.

My last car was fully aftermarket and I knew that hooking up to stock wouldn't be the same, but I decided to deal with it because I wanted to keep all of the bluetooth + iMid features.

Well the sound of the bass sounds kinda "resonating". It's almost as if there's an over emphasis on the higher bass notes and terrible emphasis on the sub-bass levels. I've been messing with the amplifier as best as I can, I tried 50hz, 75hz, 80hz, 100hz etc

Well come to find out since I have the sedan and NOT the coupe.. .no such sub exists.

Put 2+2 together and I've come to the conclusion that my amp must be getting a high boost on the mid-bass (due to the stock filter) and the lows are likely being filtered out too much making the sound is resonate?. I knew I wasn't fricken crazy!!!

My installer shook his head when I asked "did you hook up to the stock subwoofer" and he must have installed on the rear speakers. I know installing to rear speakers is definitely never the way to go when you care about your sound.

Now obviously I'm no car audio guy, but I do love good accurate sound. Am I wrong about my assessment?

I discussed this with an installer before I had my system done. He said I could keep the stock head unit with a sound processor to make sure each speaker was receiving the proper range of frequencies.
