2012 Dodge Ram and KTP-445u

I was wondering is anyone has installed an alpine KTP-445u in a 2012 Dodge Ram with the premium alpine system. I have tried to connect it after the factory amp and got sound but it was very muffled and a good hum. I read that I have to tap in before the factory amp so I spliced in after the deck and ran the wires to the speakers after the amp and didn't get any sound except for a few little pops. Just looking for any advice to install this thing. Thanks in advance.
