2006 Cobalt DD9518 Trunk Enclosure opinions?

Is there a little sticker on the bottom of the basket? Serial number?
I believe the serial sticker is on the motor but the woofer is in that small box in my trunk right now so wouldn't be easy to look at for me. plus like i said, not sure where they're from but I do not have any interest in shipping that woofer.

What did you try? what didn't work? could you elaborate a little bit?
Ported box built inside the trunk because there wasn't an opening big enough for it to fit anywhere.

5 cubes

sub firing into trunk

Sub was suffocated, sounded like crap.

Even turned it around to fire into the cabin but the opening on that end isn't big enough for clearance without cutting metal.

I know only two people who've pulled off putting 18s in their trunks and it still sounded like ***** in the end.

Like I said I personally had a Fi Q 18 in a 3CU sealed box in my trunk back in the day and loved it until I cooked those dreaded flat tinsels! lol. I just wasn't sure how much difference it would make with the DD9518 being a so much larger more power hungry sub.... i'm pretty much figuring at this point that ported is not gonna be a good option for this scenario but it kind of sounds like nobody really knows how it will perform sealed either other than obviously at least a little bit less efficient than the DD recommendation.

3 cf sealed for a 9518???

Sell it and get a 12 and port it

you just got done saying ported it was quiet and sounded like ****, what do you think is going to happen when you seal it off...

Quiet and sound like ****

The idea is that with a sealed enclosure it would be able to be smaller and still sound OKAY. not looking to win any DB Drags here its just for the daily. as I said earlier from what I understand a sealed box 3-4CU should definitely sound a lot better than the 3CU ported box it's in right now. I see you're in wisconsin, unless you know of a pair of 12s (or even a single) that'll handle the same 2500-3k that 9500 will on clean power locally that they would just so happen to want to trade me, I need something to use until I find something else for the car either way.

You mean other than the fact that DD doesnt even reccomend sealed?

Or the fact that T/S generally shows dd subs to be poor choices for a sealed alignment?

You are clearly going to do exactly what you plan anyways. So good luck
