2005 Grand Prix GT viper 5900 the gauges turn off and the computer in the car says error when you try to look at the mileage.. taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get an idea of wtf is wrong.. do any MECP pros think the 5900 could be ****ing something up? or could it be the Metra GMOS-01 kit for the after market radio..

Do you mean your dash says error when you flip it to the mileage. Or did you get a scan tool and then seen error. Put money on it your IPC has died, went out. Id say go to autozone and see if they can scan it for you first. I bet you get no communication with IPC code.

Also how long ago did you have that stuff installed? Weeks or years?

You could also check all fuses. All of them.

Umm you do know that being you have an alram and some other Aftermarket products on your car that they may give you a problem when it comes time to talk about the warrenty and what it covers. And what they find wrong with your vehicle. Even more when you say you play with your alarm and the problem goes away.

But Like I said before seems like a bad IPC. Instrument panel cluster. Place were all your gauges are located at. Or a commen module that ahs to do with the IPC and that Dash Info thing. Ugg cant remember the proper name for it. Thats saying error on it.

The manger of the Pontiac dealership is my neighbor he told me to bring it to him the car also has no mufflers on it left everything else on factory resonator and cat I welded on straight pipes

Well the dealer wants to remove me to remove the alarm and drive it and see if it happens again.. I saw that coming.. so I can just unplug the wire harness from the the alarm and reconnect the 12v ignition wire and that would technically "remove the alarm" right?

Help I know nothing of this this alarm shits.. also any installers know of any known issues about this car and the viper 5900??

You can unplug the harnesses from the alarm, then solder the starter wire back together and it'll be out of there. The starter wire is the thick yellow one (I think). It'll be the only one that's actually cut, assuming the install was done correctly.

I will have to do this then I think its think yellow or thick pink I cant remember

Yeah, I can't remember off the top of my head. I think the pink is one of the ignition wires, igintion 1 I believe. If you've got a remote start, you'd tap into those too. I've never installed a remote start, but I've done countless alarms.
