2004 Pontiac GP

I just bought a Pioneer AVIC-U310BT from Best Buy and had it installed. After picking it up any time I get up to highway speed, I get a high pitched noise out of my dash. They have had it back three times, changing out the GM module and this last time they reinstalled my old head unit in the trunk and ran the new unit through it somehow. Went to pick it up and the sound has still not going away. It starts out at a high pitched Morse code at around 65MPH and is constant high pitched whine at 75 and above. It is highly annoying and I need help. Thanks!

They did somthing wrong big time. There should be no reason why you should put your old headunit back in the trunk and run it to your new headunit. That makes no sense. Id take it back and ask for a full refund and go some place else.

some cars like civics and lincolns you have to leave the stock hu connected

Not with the 03 and up GMs. The factory GM vehicles have all the door dings, onstar, etc ran through the radio. To remedy this metra and a few others make a plug in module to cover all these features. Or if they dont matter to u a headunit could be installed without it.

i know. the gmos interfaces. i only quoted sine he seemed it was crazy to keep a factory hu in general.

i really wouldnt be wurprised if its like a speed limit indicator in the unit itself lol.

i highly doubt it. GM doesnt do anything that fancy LOL. I dont think they have ever offer speed compensated volume control. I bet it is as simple as a bad ground.
