Should you ever encounter an intersection where the traffic lights are hung in just the right position to where the sun is right in your eyes (dependent on time of day and which compass direction you are facing, naturally) you'll be led to understand just how much of a blessing that 6 or 8 inches of tint can really be.

1st off I want to say that your new SUV is sweet! I cant wait to see the system setup that you have planned.

The factory strip is good enough. Although I would do a 40-50% film on the entire front windshield will give it a much cleaner look and overal help reduce eye strain during the day. By using a lighter film it wont be as noticable to the police too. My front windshield which is done in 35%, but its very noticable....



I dont know if you guys have noticed or not, but when you see a new car commercial or a add for a new car they allways have the entire front windshield tinited, why you ask, thats because it looks better.

I have a 20% all the way around with a 5% tint strip, but dont come down all that far. Does the job though.

Dude, you stole my Explorer! Looks exactly like mine, except mine is a lil' newer and a different model. You can fit some MAD audio equipment back there. You got the 3rd row seat option?

No, mines in the middle of contruction as far as the system goes. About to start my Enclosure build. I've got a few pics of my old system through the link in my sig. I also had a Eminence 6.5 in each doors that you can't see.

S***, we ought to start an Explorer thread! I have an '02 Eddie Bauer. I'm working on getting the system planned, and parts bought. I have to wait until August to get back to buying, though. I have planned to tear everything out to spray on sound deadeding. I have 6 cans of Stinger Noise Killer Blue. A layer of Damplifier Pro on the ceiling, and several layers in the doors. I already treated the front doors, and can tell you it makes aone hell of a difference!

No to the tint strip on the windshield. The factory does the job. I might tint the front windows, on mine, though....same as the rear windows. I will take pics of the progress. BTW, I have the third row, AND the aux climate control. This severly limits the install possibilities. (I hate eating up cargo space with a giant sub box.)

Plans: 2-B/A GT-28 amps, SPG555 sub (1cft sealed), set of Pro 60's in front, Alpine 7909 & 5959 changer, 2/A.C. EQT's, and I plan to mount a Kinetic 1700 UNDERneath where the spare tire is now. I'm going to try to install the amps behind the trim panel where the factory sub & amp is now.

Yehh,they said that if i did the backs with anything over it,it would be limo...which i didnt want...i may go back and get that on the last back windows and the hatch....but ill see
