I just got an 02 grand cherokee and i gotta change the speakers they are just no good..

The thing i dont get is, the front door speakers are 6x9 and the backs are 6.5's or something in that range i believe. I have no idea why anybody would put 6x9s in the front with smaller speakers in the rear doors but oh well lol

For the front 6x9's, if i wanted to add say 6.5" comps, would i just get/make a bracket or an adapter type thing? And the doors would be getting deadened

so for that i would just cut out 6.5" baffles and then do what to mount it exactly?

lol this is my first time doing something like this i am not entirely sure how to go about doing it

if i remember the stock speakers kinda had their own baffle...i used that as a template...then made the MDF baffle and used the stock screw locations to mount the baffle...seal it with deadener and some caulk or molding clay and your good to go

alright that makes sense... kinda of trace the 6x9 template only cut out the 6.5" hole and rescrew it in lo... seems easy enough... would 3/4" MDF be sufficient?
