2002 Buick Century Concert Sound 2. Speaker not working..........

I have a 2002 Buick Century with the 6 speaker concert sound 2 system in it. I recently got an Alpine CDA-9825 installed in my car by best buy. Ever since then, the front drivers side speaker only works about half the time. Sometimes it works, other times you cant hear anything.

I just put alpine type-s speakers in the front thinking that it would maybe work, but unfortunatly, i still have the same problem. A tech at best buy said that the concert sound 2 systems have an amplifier somewhere in the car, but i think i am getting bulls***.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong??? Is there actually an amp running my speakers somewhere in the car???

i wondered that with other buicks. It will be hard to get a straight answer especially since the Concert Sound II name has been used forever. My 1990 Buick had Concert Sound II which was just a cheap 6-speaker system (2-dash, 2-door, 2-rear deck). My grandmother has a 1998 Century with Concert Sound and it has comps in the doors, but I'm not sure about the amp.

there is a problem with the connections with either the speaker or radio harness. i had an 02 regal with the concert an there was no amp.

it has the comps in the front. The 2 midbass speakers connected to tweeters higher up on the door panel.

i am almost positive that there is no amp. Does this sound like a loose connection???

it sounds like somethin may be grounding out cuz sometimes it can make speakers do weird things

my concert 2 in my 01 Lesabre has no external amp. All HU baby.

heres some advice never let best buy influnece your choice in car audio and especially not install

here's what you tell best buy since you had them install the HU they should know for a fact if there is an amp because they would have had to 1. either tie into it or 2. bypass it. so if it's not working correctly they should fix it and not guess what may be wrong.
