2001 Grand Am GT(Monsoon) new Install

Well,

I just got finished installing a new HU in my Grand Am GT.

I am just going to post this here, if anyone would like me to explain how i did it, and what I ended up doing.

I'm only asking this because I had to Google my *** off to find enough information to find out how to get this working.

Especially for installing new 6x9's that were replacing stock Duals.

I ended up not using a harness and I just hacked the whole wiring ordeal.(sucks for the next guy)

But it was a clean install.

well there is no real point to this, Its just that I wanted to see if anyone needed help with an install in this car.

You see, the system is all messed up.

The stock Monsoon system, has no RCA components in the system at all.

Also the wiring is completely messed up.

Harnesses don't work right, tried like 4.

Had to find schematics for the system, and the plugs in order to hardwire the HU in.

no stock head units have rca outputs

all GM wiring is messed up

you shoulda used the correct harness, the 99$ one, it would work.

Why would I pay 99 dollars. When I can wire it myself and use male/female wire connectors if i need to put the old plug in.

But, I can see that this thread was a bomb lol

ok so since u wired your pontiac grand am gt. ok i have 1997 pontiac bonneville and i am having a hard time to try to find the best spot to run my power wire from the battery to the amp in the trunk. maybe u have any ideas, could you give me some pointers then. thanks bro
