my buddy with the f150 is wondering in order to mount subs under the back seats, do they have to be shallow mount subs ? Ideally he wanted to run diamond d3's. probably 10's or 12's

they make kits to raise the back seat in order to fit bigger boxes. He might be better off taking all the plastic out from behind the seat and building a sealed box for 3 tens or 4 eights

the widest point under the seat is about 7 inches, and as you go farther back it slopes down to about 4 inches.

im lying my seats down and putting the box and subs on that, you loose the sitting space but you can put in one nice system that way.
