2001 cavalier new cd installation help

ok so i have a 2001 cavalier and im putting new cd and front speakers in. i didnt get the expensive harness and i know there is a wire i have to run from somewhere since i got the cheap one. i need to know what and where and how i do that. please help for the cd player. also im not really sure how to change the speakers if anyone knows how. help!!!!! thanks alot!

I have not done speakers in a cav however, being a gm you most likely will have to pull the door panel and then remove the speaker

how do i pull off the panel? i uncsrewed the screws in the handle do i just pull hard to get it off or any certian way?

there is a tool for the pops, but i usually pull to get the first one off, then use a long flathead screwdriver to get the rest

but if u have crank windows, be careful u don't lose the clip that hold the handle on. I have seen my fair share of those go flying....

There are bolts and screws in the door. 4 screws below, and 2 bolts in the center...and look at the wiring color code online for the cd.

cavalier eh.........i think i did one of those a while back. if its anything like the one i did, it will be fun. you'll most likely have to remove most of the dash starting on the sides, a couple screws here and there and work your way to the center.

and that wire is most likely the accessory wire, which you can get from the ignition harness. i think it'll be a brown wire. make sure u test it and fuse it.
