thats true. mine was 48" wide. so there some space and yah that port takes up 1/3 of my box lol. i love it. but it said to use 200 sq in of port. but yah i did double layer it all around. im still considering fiberglassing the inside of mine but right now i dont know how it will effect the sound of it. might do 45's in the corners but not sure yet. ur input? since u have done this install before.
