Yea, Doing a system for a buddy was thinking that 2k was too much. He wants two AB XFL 15's. What about 1600watts? Would that be clipping the subs?Yes usually it is. You should be using a high output alternator, big 3 upgrade and one or two good batteries.
Yea we got room for a bigger box. iv never switched out a alternator. My truck does 1600 watts fine with no big three. Really dont wanna have to redo his budget for lower powered subs. Would another battery help ( not like a $200 one) just like a regular car battery?in my maxima with a 115A alt a HC1800 under the hood and a HC800 in the trunk I was able to run a IA 20.1-1800RMS pretty well. An upgraded alternator would definatly be a better route if it in his budget. a larger box would help if you go the underpowered route
your buddy has an ad244 alt in his car thats 145amps do the big 3, add a battery and on 2k you will be fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. easiest alt to change man and cheapest to get a ho alty very popular //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifYea we got room for a bigger box. iv never switched out a alternator. A true 1600 watts is also hard on a most stock electrical, I usually say anything over 1000 rms is to much for a non upgraded electrical system.Yea, Doing a system for a buddy was thinking that 2k was too much. He wants two AB XFL 15's. What about 1600watts? Would that be clipping the subs?
Not necessarily, but odds are they are not getting 1600W RMS on stock electrical.Wait a minute, so my Sa-8s are only getting 1000 watts vs 1600?
Hmmm. Well, still selling them to get one 12 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Should be louder. Not necessarily, but odds are they are not getting 1600W RMS on stock electrical.
You should only need one run of wire for the extra battery(+), ground the battery to the car's chassis. Is their any other way to do this? Dont the batteries have to be the same? $160+$50 big three is way over his budget. even another battery means i gotta do two 0 gauge runs down the car.
Idc what anoyobe says u don't need a HO alt for 2k just a nice battery under the hood and a nice Batt in the back preferably big 3 as well (I don't even have big 3 still) I've ran pretty close to 2500 rms without big or HO altIs 2000 watts too much for stock electrical on 2007 Tahoe?
