I'm about to finish an Enclosure pushing (1) H2 12.2 @ 1 Ohm (2000 Watt RMS)

The Amp is a D Orion.

I'm confused why you need large power wires to run amps but use 12 guage wire for the actual speaker.

Should i try to upgrade the speaker wire size to say 4 or 8 gauge with some adapter?

You need larger wire for higher currents. Amp power wires have to handle higher currents than speaker wires. If we assume your amplifier is about 80% efficient, it will draw around 200 amps of current from the battery at maximum RMS power. On the other hand, 2000 watts output into a 1-ohm speaker load will produce a current of about 45 amps.

On paper, 45 amps is a bit high for 12-gauge speaker wire to handle. In practice you'll probably never come close to that kind of continuous power output, but if you want to feel safer, go ahead and upgrade to 10-gauge or 8-gauge speaker wire. 4-gauge would be extreme overkill.
