Any people reading this, be foreworned im a complete newb, after learning a little i realize alot of this below makes no sense, I understand now though, so disregard anything that sounds stupid or whatnot

Okay, turn back now if you dont have a little time to spare. There are alot of questsions. This will be a long post because I will seperate each question to its own line, to help anyone willing to answer my questions

My Current Situation

I have a 2000 Ford Mustang GT with the mach460 speaker system. My front tweeters went bad so I went to the local audio shop and they put in two 15-MCTIA Memphis tweeters. They sound perfect at low volumes, but when I start to blast the music its not so good. I have a pioneer head unit, but I think that goes to the stock amp and to the speakers, the tweeters arent wired to the headunits built in amp.

Tweeters I got- http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/details.asp?id=154

Is the reason the music isnt so good at loud levels becuase the stock amp isnt giving enough power to the tweeters? Would getting an aftermarket amp fix this problem?

Future Plans

I plan to finish off my stereo system but first wanted to ask you guys.

Is Memphis a company worth looking into, or should i stop what I did and go another route?

Assuming I stick with Memphis. If I were to complete my setup, two more tweeters for the back seat and the mids. Would this be a good setup?

I plan to get a memphis 4ch amp to go along with this, would 75x4 be suffecient for this? http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/details.asp?id=13

Side question jump in. For mids i was told i have 6" speakers I believe? Looking at Memphis's site for these speakers all 6" and 5.5" all have tweeters also, is this what I am looking for? Or am I looking in the wrong place. Just looks redundant having another set of tweeters? Correct me if im wrong. Speakers > http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/category.asp?cat=1

I have an audiobahn A8000T amp thats rated at 800watts at 2 ohm. If I got http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/details.asp?id=41 would that go well with my amp? Or do you have another suggestion? http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/category.asp?cat=2

Please correct any of my thinking if I am wrong. If I got this setup would it be better/worth the money than my current Mach460

Okay not as long as I thought, but thats becuase its 4am and I forgot half the questions, more will come later, hehe

Thanks for any help

screw the back get a set of mcsq's or a set of syncs in some cutom kick panels (if you can/want to) and get the sub i think you would be right on track. i know alot of people that run memphis and its far from bad. its not as eligant sounding as some german speakers but then again those arent for everyone. i just bought some sync5's and i heard alot of them at a rather large truck jam in tennessee and just thought they were reallly good. i already considered them as a top canidate for my upgrade (although im sure alot wont consider it an upgrade. i have going to be taking out a set of jl xr 653 3 way components.)

so please explain, would I get a set of these http://216.197.123.136/products/details.asp?cat=&id=9&p=1 they are the mcsq's. What exactly is a set, 2? 4? What would I do about the remaining slots. Assuming its two, it would just be the front two, and assuming it would be 4 it would be the front two big spots and the back two big spots. What would I do about the four places for tweeters? Or would I buy 4 of these and not mount the tweeter with the speaker, instead mount the tweeter in the 4 spots for tweeters and just those speakers in the spot for the 6" speakers?

And what do you mean by kick panels?

woah thats confusing.

ill try to answer the best i can.

-a set is a pair (2) speakers.

-ermm from your description, there is a place for a woofer and a place for a tweeter right? if so, that is where components come in. (tweeter and midwoofer separate with a crossover)

-kick panels are little enclosures by your feet on the floor of the car, usually fiberglassed, or prefabricated, used to house speakers.

Any other input you have? Maybe on the subwoofer? I think I solved what I want to do as far as my speakers. But with those speakers will a 75x4 amp work good?

Edit: Should I go with 6.5" or 5.25" I have a convertible mustang, i dont know if sizes are any different

erm what do u want out of a subwoofer?? loudness, sound quality??

umm i dont know the rms on those memphis's you are getting, nor does it say on the website. but i guess 75w/channel is fine.

oops! forgot to ask your spending limit for the subs!

and for the components, a 75w/channel amp is fine, but be sure not to run the speakers past the RMS rating (ignore the peak).

yea I only look at RMS. As for the sub, I was hoping to stay relatively cheap in the ball park of 250-300 ( i have the funds to go more, but id rather stay cheap, im not looking for a knock the socks of you system, and my supercharger fund needs money hehe)

yea supercharger!

hmm for a single sub setup... 250-300 you have a whole lot of choices hehe

now these prices arent the cheapest out there, im just givin you a range of what were lookin at:

the sub im upgrading to: Sound Splinter RL-p (it looks a whole lot better that the websites picture) nothing but praise: http://www.soundsplinter.com/rlp_premium_series_12_and_15_inch_subwoofer.html

erm... from what ive heard crystal subs are freakin awesome: http://www.uscaraudio.com/cgi-bin/usstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=COMP12

Image Dynamics IDMAX beautiful sub:

SI Magnum for sale if you sign up for this forum: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3228

yea...

hope this helps a lil

Only thing, gotta go with a 10" my trunk is too small to have a 12", **** convertible haha. I see your first link is just 12 and 15, do the others come in 10"? I tried searching those pages, but came to know sign of a 10" version

Also if I could get this question answered
Is the reason the music isnt so good at loud levels becuase the stock amp isnt giving enough power to the tweeters?
umm that question... ill take a guess... i dont know for sure.

i think the tweeters ARE getting enough power, but the amp isnt sending a clear signal. either that, or you have the treble turned on too high from your hu and ya needa attenuate it. dont quote me on that though....
