Nice Dude I have the same car what orientation are you going with your box... right now I'm subs up port back. What model optima did you get i've been searching for a batt of late.

right now im thinkin subs and port back and mounting the amp on top.

i dont remember what model the optima is but it has 870 ca and 750 cca

it was $178 at advance auto parts but some guy told me they sometimes have a sale for around $140

So far Im planning on a pair of 10" Kappa Perfects in an isobaric enclosure (@ .8 cu ft total) powered by a Zed made US Acoustics 300w per channel amp, with a set of NOS Soundstream Reference 5.25 components in the doors (I know the door is made for 6.5's, but I already own these) powered by a Zapco Z220.

HU is the same as my sig, a NOS Alpine CDA-7941 running to a crossover/EQ yet to be determined, as I own the Hifonics Ophelia thats my avatar, but its kinda big.

Its going to be a squeeze.

Good luck with the install. I had a 2002 Eclispe GTS I recently sold to a friend for a decent price. I miss it from time to time, but the car just ate gas, really wasn't as fast (Due to them being heavy as hell!) as I would have liked and was just overall to small for me. I hate when I hit a bump and crush my head, lol!

Looks like a nice system going in there. I only had an aftermarket deck, componets off an amp. Nothing special.

Good luck with the install. I had a 2002 Eclispe GTS I recently sold to a friend for a decent price. I miss it from time to time, but the car just ate gas, really wasn't as fast (Due to them being heavy as hell!) as I would have liked and was just overall to small for me. i hardly ever have anyone ridin in the back and im right at 6 foot so i dont really have a problem.

right now im gettin around 25 or so mpg which isnt too bad.

I experimented tonight with a piece of cardboard to see if a false floor was what I wanted or if I wanted a simple enclosure.

This is a very rough sketch of a possible false floor design...

The spare tire would be removed to give room for the sub. The false floor is going to run all the way into the rear seat. The amp would be in a box to hold it right below the false floor and cover with a piece of plexiglass or somethin of that nature. The mitsubishi logo would be cut out and also would have plexiglass.

If I go this route, I'm not sure how I would bolt it down. I have already marked where the hinges will be. Everything is lining up fairly good, but I have some plywood laying around that I will cut into and get the fit before buying the actually board I will use.

I got my knukonceptz wires today. They shipped them really quick.

Oh yeah make sure you take care of the paint on that car. Mine rusted in the back hatch area. Good thing I had the paint coverage when I bought the car, but they do rust.
