200 Oz. + Magnet structure subs

ikesound is a very trust worthy site. I have ordered for them and had no problems very cheap prices. save the 85 and go with ikesound the shiva is a great choice i am going with it's bigger brother the tempest

Uh no. See this is gonna be a custom install, not a beat around the bush regular high-schooler install. I plan to go to a couple shows with my setup once I lay the fiberglass. Rockford, right.

taht sub ahs a 300 oz. magnet!

its a big facker.. not overly pretty sounding, but hits some kinda hard...
Why is everybody so infatuated with the size of the woofers magnet. It doesn't play that big of a role in the woofers performance. Everyone I have ever met is always picking a sub by the size of the magnet. My brother bought these Pyramid 12's off some kid, and said they are gonna hit hard look at that magnet. Of course, I busted out the old bazookas, (back in the day), and showed him that the magnet isn't everything people have it cracked up to be. Please do not buy a woofer based on MAGNET size. RESEARCH, before you BUY

trust me, im not in any way shape or form infatuated with magnet size... i bought my subs sight unseen, after reading taht tehy played well...

i may have been mistaken in mentioning magnet size, but i was jsut trying to get my point across taht rockford products are actually excellent...

when he says its not high school stuff, he is mistaken.... rockfords held the world record for a while just recently.... in a custom setup, the power line is incredible....

they had a single Power DVC 15" hitting 151 dB's when they first came out....

Because they have a smaller magnet than the pyramid, and that used to be my old setup. Don't knock the bazookas, they aren't bad for the price. My brother had his pyramid setup and I had my bazooka setup, I was comparing the magnet sizes, the bazookas sounded much better and louder, yet they have a much smaller magnet compared to the pyramid, thus prooving magnet size is not a big factor in determining a woofers performance.

audiolife do know why a magnet size would have anything to do determing the speaker. does a bigger magnet help the speaker in a way a smaller one doesn't? I dont even know what the magnet does???

No, I'm not saying that they're bad or anything, and I wasn't focusing on total magnet strenght, I just was recomended it for a smaller box construction (.37 Ci truck box). I mean had I thought magnet structure mattered I wouldn't have bought my Shiva. Also, I don't hate RF shit just I don't like it because everyone with a "custom" install has them. Just trying to different and kicking the sheet out of them.
