$200 components?

Don't call it a comeback
I am looking to spend no more than 200 bucks on some component system (tweeters, components, and crossovers). I like kicker so do you guys suggest anything they have. My stock speakers are 6x8 so what size would I need 5.25? Also what amp do you think i should push them with. I would like to spend less than 500 on the whole front stage.

6.5" speakers will likely fit with little to no modifications.

How much depth do you have to work with?

Also, what type of vehicle?

If you are looking to spend less than $500 on your frontstage, I'd increase the speaker budget some and lower the amplifier budget (I'm assuming that budget includes the amplifier cost). For example, this is a great amplifier that would suit your needs nicely at a "blowout" price: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=269-160

That would leave you with around $300 to spend on speakers, and $200 for the amplifier, wires, installation supplies and materials and sound deadening

Reason I'm suggesting this is that it would allow you to widen your budget on your speakers, which (in general) might allow you to buy slightly better sounding speakers and increase the overall performance of your stereo.

Sound like an option?

I have a '99 Ford Ranger ext. cab. Yeah I guess it doesn't really matter where the money goes im just shootin for under 500 total. I like kicker products so are there components any good? Also I will most likely get some kind of kicker amp (zx200.2 or along those lines).

I would, personally, go with products other than Kicker. Nothing wrong with them...good products at a good price. But to maximize your performance with the price you have stated, I think your money would be better spent elsewhere. For example, that amplifier I linked. Would work extremely well for you and not eat up much of your budget. Just as good, quality wise, as the Kicker ZX series.

Likewise for speakers....for $300-$350, I think your money would be better spent on components other than Kicker. Simply to optimize the amount of performance you are getting for your money. Kickers sound decent....but there's better, especially in your price range.

What would you suggest as for components then? THanks for your input too.

Look man different companys specialize in different things kicker is good at making subwoofers thats there thing not speakers. Same thing with mtx they are know for great subs not speakers.

If you want a good set of components I would look at the polks. They are good speakers for the money. You can get the DB series components for 200 or the momo's for 300.

Thanks man thats what I wanted some other opinions and what other people think are better components. I am not set on kicker components but I will most likely go with a kicker amp becuase I know a local store owner pretty well and he can get me a good deal.
